IT WILL FEATURE MORE THAN 40 LOCAL RESTAURANTS, BREWERIES, WINERIES AND FARMERS WHO HAVE ALL USED LOCALLY SOURCED INGREDIENTS IN THEIR RECIPES. IN THIS CASE, HEAR THE ICE CREAM IS SOURCED STRAIGHT FROM MILK FROM THE COW CLEMENTINE HERE PUTTING HER MARK ON ALMOST EVERY FLAVOR. A family-owned dairy farm is working on some new ice cream flavors to benefit the Harford County Public Library as part of Taste of Harford.For nine generations, Broom’s Bloom Dairy has been a working farm across 230 acres in Harford County.”Our family has owned the farm, the land, since 1726,” said Kate Dallam, the farm’s owner.And, for 21 years, they’ve operated a store, where customers can find 15 flavors of homemade ice cream that change every day.A new flavor, the Dewey decimal double Dutch chocolate, is one of three made specifically for the second annual Taste of Harford event from 1-4 p.m. on May 18. The event hosted by the Harford County Public Library Foundation at Vignon Manor Farm in Havre de Grace is a fundraiser to benefit the library system, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.”All proceeds go directly back into the community for programs and resources for all of our citizens and everyone who uses the library,” said Mary Hastler, the library system’s CEO.This year’s Taste of Harford will feature more than 40 restaurants, breweries, wineries, and farmers who have used locally sourced ingredients in their recipes.”We have music, jewelry vendors, authors coming, so it’s an opportunity to eat, drink, socialize.
