HILLSDALE COUNTY — Summer is quickly approaching and, with the change in seasons, comes the opening of the area’s best seasonal ice cream parlors.
From traditional chocolate malts to soft-served twist cones and banana splits, Hillsdale County offers a wide variety of favored spots to beat the heat, from Udder Side to Reading’s Pizza Barn to Finish Line Restaurant to Freddie’s Freeze and even more.
We asked the community to name their favorites and Overflowing Cups and Cones came out on top, earning 42.11% of the vote. The parlor, located at 214 S. Broad St. in Hillsdale, offers a variety of traditional and unique sweet treats year-round.
Jonesville’s The Udder Side came in a close second with 36.18% of the vote. The eatery at 121 W. Chicago St. serves up a monthly special and fan favorites like banana taffy ice cream.
Ethan’s Donut Factory, a newcomer to the ice cream scene, took third place with 7.24% of the vote. The parlor serves up fresh scoops in delicious, homemade waffle cones and is expanding hours to meet demand.
