Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad to host first Ice Cream Train, Sunset Express rides of season
The Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad will be holding its first Ice Cream Train and Sunset Express train rides of the year as the company and museum kicks off its summertime season.The first Ice Cream Train rides are at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, and they depart each Friday from June through August with the exception of the Fourth of July. Every passenger gets a complimentary ice cream from inside the station before boarding the train, and they can enjoy the treat as the train travels along Casco Bay for 40 minutes.The first Sunset Express trains depart at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, and they will leave at those times each Saturday from June through August. All passengers receive a complimentary beverage and a voucher for a discounted meal at a nearby restaurant, a dinner that can be enjoyed before or after the train ride. This ride offers some of Portland’s best sunset waterside views.
