Two popular New Jersey-born dessert brands are teaming up to celebrate summer with a limited-time treat.

As part of their first collaboration, Belmar-based Coney Waffles is offering an ice cream sandwich made with Jersey City-headquartered Bang Cookies‘ fan-favorite, oversized cookies.

Customers at Coney Waffles’ Main Street store can also get a mini Bang Cookies topper on any dessert, according to the brands.

The dessert mashup is available exclusively through September at the Coney Waffle Cakery & Test Kitchen at 801 Main St. in Belmar.

Bang Cookies’ co-owner Mike Smilo commented, “This partnership celebrates everything we love about summer, sweets and Jersey pride. It’s fun, over-the-top and bursting with flavor, just like our customers expect.”

Founded in 2016, Bang Cookies is known for its giant, stuffed soft-baked cookies made with all-natural and organic ingredients. Co-founder George Kuan serves as CEO.

After getting its start at farmers markets, the venture quickly expanded into brick and mortar, as well as e-commerce. The franchise now has outposts in Ocean Township, Jersey City, Edison, Newark and East Rutherford. Outside of New Jersey, Bang Cookies has stores in Brooklyn, N.Y., and King of Prussia, Pa.

In addition to recently welcoming “Jersey Shore” star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino as a new co-owner, Bang Cookies is preparing to launch stores in Princeton, Oklahoma City and – possibly – Las Vegas.

Launched in 2016 by Joseph D’Esposito, Coney Waffles is popular for its over-the-top ice creams, milkshakes, ice cream cakes and other confections.

Along with its inaugural location in Belmar, the concept has locations in Toms River, Long Branch, Red Bank and Asbury Park.
