Wondering where to go strawberry picking in the Yorkshire Dales this year?
A family-run ice cream farm on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales has been praised by its visitors for offering a “magical” strawberry picking experience.
Birchfield Ice Cream Farm, located in the valley of Nidderdale near Harrogate, is known for its “delicious” berries (as well as ice cream), and for being a “great fun” day out for the family with “so much to do”.
On its website, the ice cream farm writes: “Birchfield farm is a picturesque working farm nestled in the valley of Nidderdale, North Yorkshire in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
“We have a cafe on the farm serving hot and cold drinks, a selection or hot and cold food, delicious homemade Ice cream made here on the farm, freshly made waffles and cakes.
“If you visit the farm you will also see our pedigree herd of Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs and British Saddleback pigs.
“Birchfield farm is a mixed farm with dairy, pigs and sheep which you can see grazing in the fields.
“As well as animals our land is used to grow strawberries, maize and pumpkins.”
The farm also has a tulip field which has now sadly shut for 2025, but is hoping to return next year with endless rows of bright and bold coloured seasonal blooms.
