“Every time he stops by, Gronk is always kind to the staff and willing to pose for a pic,” the business said Tuesday in a post to Facebook.
PENDLETON, N.Y. — A local ice cream shop got a special visitor over the weekend.
Former NFL tight and Western New York native Rob Gronkowski stopped by Uncle G’s in Pendleton, and apparently, it’s not his first visit there.
“Every time he stops by, Gronk is always kind to the staff and willing to pose for a pic,” the business said Tuesday in a post to Facebook, adding a “GO BILLS!” to assure anyone who thought they might betray the hometown team.
Gronkowski is a five-time Pro Bowl selection with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He retired in March of 2019 after nine seasons with the Patriots, starting his five-year clock for Pro Football Hall of Fame eligibility. That means he would have been eligible to be inducted in 2024.
The Amherst native returned to the field in 2020 and played two years with Tom Brady in Tampa Bay, where he won a fourth Super Bowl ring.
Gronkowski was inducted into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame in November of 2024.
