TikTokers squeal after making Joe Biden laugh
The face of the child was blurred by SWNS to protect his identity.
The last person Amyah Gwyndolyn expected to run into at the beach was former President Joe Biden, but it happened. And she has the video to prove it.
Gwyndolyn, who made the trip from Philadelphia to Delaware for a day trip with her closest girlfriends, spotted three generations of Bidens having some ice cream together on the boardwalk after spending some time enjoying the weather and the waves in Rehoboth Beach.
“We had a long day at the beach, and we packed our things up and we were on our way leaving and we saw Secret Service and we were a (little) confused because we were like, ‘What’s going on? Who’s over there?'” Gwyndolyn told USA TODAY on June 24. “So, I spotted him first and I said, ‘Oh my God, that’s Joe Biden.'”
Gwyndolyn and her girlfriends ran over, making it over to the group before the crowd, seen in the clip, completely surrounded the group, which included the former president, his son Hunter, his grandson and a few others.
“There were maybe like 20 people when we made it over there. And people were just yelling how excited they were to see him, people were talking to him and his son Hunter, and they were calling his grandson adorable,” Gwyndolyn said. “We were just all talking to Joe.”
One of Gwyndolyn’s friends can be heard in the 30-second clip giving the retired politician his flowers, telling Biden he was the “best thing that ever happened to us.”
Gwyndolyn and her girlfriends kept the conversation going after she ended the recording, telling USA TODAY that Biden was “really happy, giggly and could really feel the love radiating off of us.”
Gwyndolyn has gotten some hate after posting the video to social media but says that the love they have been receiving has been “overwhelming” and outweighs the negativity they’ve experienced.
“It’s actually made us so happy,” Gwyndolyn said. “We really appreciate how much people are happy that we were happy and people were just thanking us for saying those kind words to Joe because he is going through a lot right now with his cancer diagnosis and we were just very excited and to make him smile, especially the way the internet paints Joe Biden to be a bad person.”

Biden, born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, is not originally from Delaware, but he has spent a big chunk of his life in “The First State.” Biden graduated college, met his first wife Neilia Hunter, set up his law firm, had children, began his political career and eventually became senator – all in Delaware.
According to reporting by The Delaware News Journal, part of the USA TODAY Network, before Biden headed to take his place at the White House in 2021, he told a send-off crowd, “When I die, Delaware will be written on my heart.”
The Biden family has lived at 1209 Barley Mill Road, also known as “the Lake House,” in Greenville since 1998. The Bidens later purchased another home a few miles north of Rehoboth Beach.
