INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Sweet Valley Ice Cream, co-founded by Jason Hill and Georgia Brown, delights communities with its homemade ice cream served from a battery-powered food truck.
The ice cream is crafted in their Spencer, Indiana shop, offering a variety of 16 to 20 homemade flavors. The truck travels to various events, providing a unique ice cream experience with flavors that are often themed to match the occasion.
“We really get along great and we enjoy it. It’s fun. What’s not fun about ice cream?” Georgia Brown said, highlighting the family-run nature of the business.
The idea for Sweet Valley Ice Cream began after watching a British Bake Off episode featuring benchtop ice cream makers.
Jason Hill started making ice cream at home and sharing it with friends and family, who encouraged him to sell it.
The food truck is equipped with lithium batteries and inverters to keep the ice cream frozen without a generator.
This innovative setup includes a small air conditioner, water, lights, and a sound system to enhance the customer experience.
Sweet Valley Ice Cream also offers sorbets and pup cups, catering to both human and canine customers. The shop’s location next to a groomer in Spencer has attracted many dog owners.
The business is a family affair, with Georgia Brown working alongside her son Jason and daughter-in-law Charlene.
They enjoy experimenting with new flavors and involving friends as taste testers.
Sweet Valley Ice Cream continues to bring joy to communities with its creative flavors and family-friendly atmosphere, making each visit a memorable experience.
