The fans have spoken and Blue Bell has listened. The Brenham, Texas-based ice cream company turned to their customers and asked them to choose which discontinued flavor they should bring back to store shelves. They launched the Great Scoop Revival Flavor Tournament.
It was up to all of us. Fans voted through each step of the bracket that began with 16 flavors that included choices like Blueberry Cheesecake, Lemon Bliss, and Tiramisu before it came down to the final two options: Groom’s Cake and Cookie Cake.
The winner is Groom’s Cake and the long wait is over. The beloved flavor that is described as “chocolate ice cream with chocolate cake pieces and chocolate coated strawberry hearts, surrounded by swirls of strawberry sauce and chocolate icing,” will be back in our grocery stores on May 1.
But that’s not all! When Blue Bell announced the winner, they also had a bonus for fans. Per a statement on their website, “After a BIG response from so many of you, we have decided to bring back not only Groom’s Cake but Cookie Cake, too! Both flavors will join our lineup in 2025.”
We don’t know when Cookie Cake will return just yet. But we will keep y’all posted.
