Amazon just dropped a secret section of new releases, and a Ninja soft-serve maker's in the mix

As a shopping editor, I scroll through Amazon pretty regularly (okay, hourly). Whether I’m looking for the best deals, checking out the bestsellers or looking for gift ideas, the mega retailer has it all. However, I recently discovered a just-launched section on its website: Amazon’s Hot New Releases. This is where all the latest and greatest product debuts are showcased, and I’ve sifted through it to spotlight the five releases you’ll want to know about ASAP (plus a few more, because choosing only five was hard).

Now, most of these items haven’t gotten a ton of reviews yet, but that doesn’t seem to stop shoppers. For example, more than 3,000 people reportedly bought this “As Seen On TV” Pocket Hose in the past month, but only 24 customers have felt compelled to leave ratings. It’s not a major deal (when was the last time you left an Amazon review?), but just something to consider as you shop.

Intrigued? You should be. Read on and get inspired!

Traditional garden hoses are kind of cumbersome, bulky, kink easily and are hard to wrap back up when you’re done using them. That’s why so many people are flocking to buy this new Pocket Hose. It’s more compact than most hoses — just 17 feet when it’s rolled up —but once you turn on the water, it expands up to 50 feet. The hose is also made with three separate layers of high-strength latex that prevents leaks and bursts, and doesn’t kink.

“I’m really impressed with the quality of construction and everything that is included.” said one happy spritzer. “The hose itself is a real space/time/hassle saver as it basically puts itself away when you turn off the water flow. But the pivoting attachment (they call it a ‘Pocket Pivot’) makes sure that the hose never kinks at the hose bib itself.”

You’ve probably heard of the Ninja Creami. People on social media went bonkers for it. But now, Ninja is releasing the next iteration of it — the Swirl. This machine makes soft serve, milkshakes and traditional scoop ice cream. Like the original, it does require a little prep and pre-freezing of the ingredients. But once you’ve done that, you can choose between six ice cream settings, including soft serve, fruit whip, frozen custard, swirled frozen yogurt, lite ice cream, gelato, sorbet, milkshake and CreamiFit (which combines ice cream with protein powder).

“This is gonna be huge in our household! We all loved the vanilla recipe that came with it,” said a shopper (who also included a video with their review). “It functions great and easy to use. I mixed a triple berry soft serve and it was probably the best tasting ice cream I’ve had! The only issue some will have is the noise… it’s loud when blending to make the soft serve and during dispensary. Hopefully, like the rest of our Ninja products, it will be a great machine and last a long time.”

Linen is a summer staple because it’s lightweight and breathable. Pick up this flowy blended henley with two adorable buttons and cuffed sleeves. It comes in 16 colors, and for just $9, you may want to pick up more than one — many shoppers already have! It’s Amazon’s No. 1 new release in the clothing category.

“I purchased the blue color and it is stunning,” said a shopper. “It’s true to size, excellent quality. perfect length to wear with leggings, lightweight material and not see-through. I haven’t worn or washed it yet, so can’t comment on the washability or shrinkage. But I will be ordering in other colors. It’s a casual blouse you can dress down or dress up.”

Need a fan in your home? Make it this smart one from Dreo. It oscillates up to 120 degrees vertically and horizontally with its wind reaching up to 90 feet. It also offers nine speeds and six fan modes — and it’s uber quiet. You can connect it to Dreo’s mobile app to turn it on or set routines (like set it to turn on just before bedtime), connect it to Alexa or turn it on with the included remote.

“Honestly, I was skeptical when I first purchased [this fan], because I’ve never heard of the brand,” said a now satisfied shopper. “The quality is great. Air flow is great. Extremely quiet on all but the highest levels. RGB light is a nice touch. Dual-axis oscillation is amazing. Energy efficiency is awesome. App is pretty cool and provides an amazing amount of control. I can’t find a fault in this fan, other than cost, which I find to be absolutely worth it!”

Suitcase stuffers, check this out! This pack comes with a portable electric air pump that’ll compress your clothes as much as possible, ergo gaining you a bunch of precious storage space. It’s sleek but big enough to hold a 17-inch laptop. You could use it as a carry-on or even as your personal item on a plane. The bag has a trolley strap on the back to attach to a rolling suitcase, a TSA-approved lock and it’s waterproof.

“My portable Mary Poppins trick bag,” one shopper called it. “It’s loaded with compartments so I can stash my 17-inch laptop, a week’s worth of tees and a pair of sneakers without making the bag look like it’s about to burst. The built-in air pump is legit — I use it to suck out all the extra space, like magic. I tried this trick on my recent weekend trip: stuffed a bunch of clothes in, zipped it shut, attached the pump, and watched the whole thing shrink down to a sleek shape that slid right under my airplane seat.”
