TULSA, Okla. — Broken Arrow’s Taste of Summer festival provided fun and ice cream for the 23rd year!
“This is the 23rd annual Taste of Summer in Broken Arrow,” said James Bell, President and CEO of the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce. “It’s put on by the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce. We’re supported by Blue Bell Ice Cream and American Waste Control as our partners in it…It started with Blue Bell really wanting to give back to the community that they’re in and at some point they outgrew it, so they asked the Broken Arrow Chamber to take over.”
Bell explained the event featured more than 24 flavors of ice cream, over 50 vendors and a waterslide, water wars and a treasure dig for kids to enjoy.
He said he’s greatly enjoyed getting to bring events like this to the Broken Arrow community.
“I’ve been here in Broken Arrow for 9 months now with the opportunity to lead this wonderful team at the Chamber and this has been wonderful. It’s been a fantastic experience so far. This is what we do as part of our mission to bring quality of life to the community…It’s these events that make Broken Arrow a great place for families.”
Bell said the event was so popular this year that Blue Bell had to bring in another truck of ice cream to keep providing unlimited ice cream for guests!
