Summer is here and the heat makes us crave sun, sand, swimming, and ice cream! Those beloved ice cream trucks are making their routes in neighborhoods to excited kids (and adults) to satisfy that summer sweet tooth craving. I remember when I was little impatiently waiting to hear that wonderful music from the vehicle that would deliver my favorite dessert — it’s one of the best parts of being a kid.
Apparently, four-legged fur babies also keep watch for the ice cream truck. Much to her delight, Bear the Golden Retriever managed to score a dairy dessert when she was staying at her grandma’s house.
In the TikTok from @goldenbearjane, the patient pup stood on the sidewalk with her grandma as that infamous jingle could be heard from the street. Bear watched as the ice cream truck did a U-turn to park right in front of the craving canine.
The canine could barely contain her excitement reading the menu. All those flavors and forms of the frozen treat looked great to the Golden. Grandma decided on a chocolate-free Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle ice cream bar for her grandpup.
The peppy pooch let out a few whines in anticipation and literally jumped for joy waiting for the pop to be opened. The pick seemed to be a favorite for the fur baby. Bear licked the green-and-blue tropical fruit ice cream nonstop, barely stopping for a breath. She made sure to get front and back, and all sides so as not to miss a morsel.
Bear’s thoughtful grandma didn’t even get herself an ice cream — it was a special treat just for her grandpup. While Bear’s mom is grateful that Bear loves staying with her grandma, she has a small concern.

“Shes never going to want to come home,” Bear’s mom revealed in the caption.
Followers praised the sweet scene and discovered their own dogs may like the same treatment.
“My dog just sent me this and asked where our ice cream truck is,” a fan shared.
“My dog is laying next to me while I watch this — he is probably wondering why I don’t get him ice cream from the ice cream truck,” another remarked.
Bear may be asking to stay at Grandma’s more often!
