Grandma’s Stories: Lessons from Mother Nature (and ice cream social)
Families of all ages are invited to join us during East Hanover Township’s community ice cream social for an evening where laughter, learning, and respect come together.
Dovie Thomason (internationally respected artist who shares her cultural, historical, and family stories) will share traditional stories first told to her by her Native grandmother. These traditional stories about animals and hero/tricksters provide a clearer sense of the values of the Native cultures of North America. Whether about that sly fox, a talkative Turtle, or an overbearing Buffalo, Dovie’s stories are told with elegance, wit, passion, sly humor, and an astonishing vocal transformation.
