Homemade favorites available again at both Pecan House sites

Emmy the Green Cow has a new home in front of Cuero’s Pecan House Cafe.
She has been missing from her original home on Main Street since the end of March when the creamery bearing her name closed. The Green Cow opened stores in Cuero as well as Victoria in 2022 as a 7-day a week business that catered to children and families with homemade and customized ice cream flavors. It quickly became a local and tourist favorite.
On Tuesday, April 22, owners Jeannette and Rudy Rocha installed the beloved life-size dairy cow on the front walkway of the Pecan House Cafe and announced the opening of a Green Cow booth inside the deli.
Ice cream Chef Jeannette said the top three requested flavors are Banana Pudding, Cuero Pecan House Bread Pudding and Chocolate Oreo.
“We’re excited!” she said. “We have our manufacturer’s license and we’ll see where that takes us.”
Just over the railroad tracks, containers of Green Cow flavors, such as Coffee Crunch and Andy’s Mint, will also be available at the Pecan House store.
“We looked at our data and those sold the most in half-gallon sizes,” she said.
Rocha said she will periodically switch out some flavors for some variety.
The only problem will be getting to the Pecan House Cafe by 3:00 on weekdays to get your Green Cow fix. Summer (and school’s end) can’t get here too soon.
