WILMINGTON — The Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Festival will return to Rockwood Park & Museum on Saturday, June 28, which will offer a full day of family-friendly activities, food vendors, live music, and fireworks.
The festival will feature more than 40 artisan vendors, a range of food and dessert options, plus entertainment on multiple stages. Running from 1-9 P.M., admission is $5, and children under 12 can join for free with an adult. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the gate using a smartphone.
Described by organizers as “five festivals in one,” the event includes elements of a food festival, music festival, craft market, family carnival, and community celebration. This year’s festivities include returning favorites like carnival games, a petting zoo, inflatables, and Jungle John’s live reptile and balloon shows, along with new additions such as a rock wall, Fun Derby Race, and new inflatable attractions.
The entertainment schedule features a lineup of local musicians, including the Fuzaholics, who will headline the main stage and lead the crowd into the fireworks finale at dusk. Performances will begin at 1:30 p.m. with acts such as Jenni Schick, The Blues Reincarnation Project, and the Gretchen Emery Band taking the stage throughout the day.

A designated family entertainment area will host a children’s DJ, performances from Drama Kids Delaware, a magic show by Ran’D Shine, and a balloon and reptile show by Jungle John.

Food trucks and beverage vendors will offer a variety of options, including Thai bowls, barbecue, pizza cones, chicken, lemonade, and more. Beer and wine will be available at a tent hosted by the Rockwood Park Preservation Society.
The Ice Cream Festival is presented by New Castle County with support from a range of community sponsors, and proceeds benefit the Rockwood Park and Museum.
