  • Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and Land-Grant Brewing Co. are collaborating on a two-day Strawberry Jam festival over Memorial Day weekend.
  • The festival celebrates the release of Jeni’s Strawberry Buttermilk ice cream, Land-Grant’s Sunroom cocktails and the return of Strawberry Rhubarb Ale.
  • The event will feature live music, kid-friendly activities, food vendors with strawberry-themed treats and the Strawberry Jammie mascot.

Berry season has finally returned to Ohio, which can only mean one thing.

Jeni’s Strawberry Jam is back.

In a collaboration between Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and Land-Grant Brewing Co., the annual celebration is set to take place over Memorial Day weekend.

The two-day festival is not only a celebration of berry season, but also the release of Jeni’s Strawberry Buttermilk ice cream and Land-Grant’s launch of Sunroom craft cocktails.

Along with the return of the Splendid Strawberry Rhubarb Ale, the celebration will also debut strawberry lemonade with vodka. The rhubarb ale is available in six packs at Land-Grant and a few Ohio retailers, according to a press release.

“Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and Land-Grant Brewing Company have been the dynamic duo behind Columbus’ favorite celebration of all things strawberry — and this year, we’re bringing Strawberry Jam back bigger and better than ever,” said Land-Grant’s director of marketing, Rachel Rudy.

The festival will include kid-friendly activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Strawberry Patch area, along with outdoor live music.

Food vendors will also participate in the strawberry-themed event with strawberry shortcakes from Fox in the Snow, pink baked goods from Bite This by Annie and food trucks like Ray Ray’s, Hai Poké, Tortilla, The Forking Pierogi, Schmidt’s Sausage Truck and Jetpack’s Burgers.

With enough strawberry-flavored treats to go around, the event will take place at the brewery, 424 W. Town St. on May 24 and 25 and will include live music, treats and new flavors to try — not to mention the Strawberry Jammie mascot.
