Truck sent through Dairy Bear seating area in crash, 5 injured

The truck was sent through the seating area after colliding with another vehicle, according to police. Five people were taken to a hospital.

HOWARD CITY, Mich. — Five people were injured, including an 11-year-old, when a truck drove through the seating area of Dairy Bear in Howard City.

The incident happened around 7:40 p.m. on Monday on Ensley Street. Michigan State Police say a southbound vehicle turned into the path of a pickup truck. The vehicles collided, and the truck went through the seating area of the Dairy Bear.

An 11-year-old who was waiting in line was hit by the truck and taken to a hospital. Michigan State Police said Tuesday morning that the child had bumps and bruises and was sent home from the hospital. 

Four others were also injured and taken to a hospital.

Michigan State Police asked people to “keep these families in your thoughts as the investigation continues.”
