Van Leeuwen Ice Cream opens in Harvard Square
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, known for its high-quality, all-natural ingredients, opened its newest shop in Harvard Square on Nov. 22, 2024.
Get ready for this scoop: Van Leeuwen is opening another ice cream shop in Massachusetts this week.
The ice cream chain, which is based in New York City and has more than 70 locations around the country, first expanded its footprint into the Bay State last year.
This week, it will open a store in Wellesley, joining the chain’s three other Massachusetts locations. Two more are set to launch this summer.
According to a press release, Van Leeuwen is “known for its made-from-scratch dairy and vegan ice cream.”

Van Leeuwen opening in Wellesley; Shop to offer $1 scoops
The new Wellesley store is opening April 3 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. It is located at 180 Linden St.
In honor of its opening, the shop will be offering $1 scoops from 3-5 p.m. and free totes for the first 100 customers starting at 3 p.m.
Where is Van Leeuwen opening in MA?
In addition to the Wellesley store, two more Van Leeuwens are opening in Massachusetts this summer.
They will be in Back Bay and Fenway, though the exact opening dates haven’t been announced.
The brand is also set to open shops inside the Burlington and Northshore malls later this year.

Van Leeuwen has three existing shops in Massachusetts, which all opened in the last year.
