The new Ben & Jerry’s location is opening in a former Starbucks location in West Seattle, and shares a space with a new coffee shop.
SEATTLE — A new ice cream shop has opened its doors at a prime location in West Seattle, just in time for summer.
Ben & Jerry’s Alki location opened April 23 with its grand opening celebration scheduled for Saturday, April 26.
The new shop is at 2742 Alki Ave. SW – in a former Starbucks location – and shares a space with new coffee spot Alki Coffee Co., which also opened for business on Wednesday.
The two businesses are owned by former Washington State Senator Mark Mullet (D-Issaquah) and West Seattle resident Jonathan Stebbins.
Mullet was elected to represent Washington’s 5th Legislative District in 2012 and reelected in 2020, before entering the race for governor in 2023. He owns four other Ben & Jerry’s locations in Washington and a Zeek’s Pizza on Sammamish Plateau.
Saturday’s grand opening celebrations include a ribbon cutting and a visit from the University of Washington’s mascot, Dubs. The husky will be at Ben & Jerry’s from 2-3 p.m. Saturday for pets and photo ops.
Alki Coffee Co is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and Ben & Jerry’s Alki is open from noon to 9 p.m. daily.
