Fans of Ben & Jerry’s are in for a treat.
The popular ice cream brand’s annual Free Cone Day is back. This year, the giveaway takes place on Tuesday, April 8 at participating shops from noon to 8 p.m. local time.
The shops will give out a scoop of free ice cream in a sugar cone between those hours. No purchase is required. While shops will give out one scoop of ice cream per transaction, and customers are welcome to “get back in line as many times as they’d like,” reports USA TODAY.
“Free cone day is being celebrated around the world and we’ll be giving away free ice cream,” Ben & Jerry’s said in an explanation on their website. ” Every time you enjoy a scoop of Ben & Jerry’s, you’re showing us how much you care. We love you too and Free Cone Day is our favorite way to show it!”
Ben & Jerry’s started Free Cone Day in 1979 as a way of thanking customers for their support during the company’s first year of business in a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vt.
