Retail sales fall in May

Retail sales fell especially at auto dealers, gas stations and homebuilders. Meanwhile, homebuilder sentiment is close to a pandemic low as economic uncertainty plagues consumers.
Energy companies fear infrastructure attacks
In recent days, some energy facilities have been hit in the Middle East. Even though key oil and gas infrastructure has been spared, those executives are weighing in.
The CEOs of Total Energies, Shell, and enquest all told CNBC that further attacks on critical energy outposts could have serious consequences on global oil supply and prices.
The recent attacks are being seen by oil traders as the most significant geopolitical event since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Breyers recalls ice cream
Breyers, the popular ice cream brand, has voluntarily recalled one of its products due to mislabeling and undeclared allergens.
Breyers rocky road ice cream was accidentally placed in the packaging for chocolate truffle ice cream, U.S. food inspectors say. The container also has a rocky road ice cream lid on it.
The tub says “may contain tree nuts,” while the lid declares almonds as an ingredient. This could be harmful to people with nut or almond allergies.

The companies will partner to develop one-time, gene editing therapies to reduce high cholesterol in people with heart disease.
