Bears have a sweet tooth too, just ask the staff at Tahoe Time Coffee Shoppe in Kings Beach.
Around 1 p.m. Sunday, while employees were cleaning the floors and had set a trash can outside, a local bear named Cinnamon took the opportunity to stroll inside.
Cinnamon managed to open an ice cream bin and made off with a 3-gallon bucket of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.
Staff later found the remains of the ice cream outside, and Cinnamon was still lingering nearby.
Despite the surprise visit, shop owner Beth Moxley says the store remains open, as only minimal damage was done.
Moxley added that Cinnamon is a familiar face in the area near the lake, although this was the first time he ventured inside the shop.
She says the staff is cautious about trash and are Bear Aware to help avoid attracting wildlife.
After hearing about Cinnamon’s choice, we have to ask — what flavor would you have taken?
