SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Calling all ice cream lovers, especially those who enjoy Savannah’s classic Leopold’s Ice Cream.
The doors to their new parlor on Whitemarsh Island have officially opened.
The iconic Savannah ice cream shop was founded over a century ago. Its flagship location is downtown on East Broughton Street.
The new parlor on Whitemarsh Island is the business’s second stand-alone storefront. There’s also a Leopold’s Ice Cream kiosk and shop at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.
While the location may be different, the owner, Stratton Leopold said people can always count on that famous Leopold’s taste.
“Our ice cream is my dad’s recipes, and we just-we will never ever change that. It’s all natural. We just are so excited to be here, but so excited to continue the tradition, we make the same way he made it back starting in 1919,” said Stratton.
Stratton said he’s excited to join the Whitemarsh Island community and continue serving Leopold’s Ice Cream to both new and old customers.
The parlor is open seven days a week on 107 Charlotte Road next to Polka Dots Gifts & Accessories.
