The city of Johnstown is launching an ice cream concept that’s far from your everyday scoop shop
Mastodons Ice Cream Co. officially opened for business on May 3. The new concept is located at 60 S. Main St. in Johnstown.
It replaces the longstanding Johnstown business Weeks Barbershop, which served the area for more than 60 years.

The new scoop shop plans to regularly feature 16 ice cream flavors, including Majestic Milky Way, Strawberry Pretzel Dessert, Bear Claw, Lemon Cheesecake Bar and more.
And speaking of cheesecake, the new Johnstown concept also offers chocolate-dipped cheesecake, ice cream nachos, ice cream flights, waffles on a stick, in addition to vegan and gluten free options.
