Pop-Tarts knows what the people want. They’ve delighted us with their original toaster pastries for decades and in recent years blessed us with Pop-Tarts ice cream from Jeni’s. But what if I told you the Pop-Tarts ice cream was simply them ramping up to a much grander dream of a Pop-Tarts creation. Well, it’s true. They’ve finally reached the highest level of Pop-Tarts potential with their latest release: Pop-Tarts Ice Cream Sandwiches.
What flavors will the new Pop-Tarts Ice Cream Sandwiches be?
Frosted Strawberry, Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon, and Frosted Chocolate Fudge seem to be the only Pop-Tarts flavors included in the initial release of these sandos. As for construction, images that have leaked online show what look like two slightly narrower Pop-Tarts, filling and all, as the “bread” of the ice cream sandwich with a nice, thick ice cream center. And it appears that the flavor of the ice cream center will correspond with the flavor of the Pop-Tarts sandwiching it. The value of that last detail cannot be overstated. If you’re gonna make a Pop-Tart ice cream sandwich, you gotta do it right, and it appears they have. There will also be pints of Pop-Tarts ice cream available in these flavors, although chocolate fudge may be replaced by the fan-favorite (and Sporked’s seventh favorite) s’mores flavor. It’s shaping up to be a Pop-Tarts summer.
When and where can you buy Pop-Tarts Ice Cream Sandwiches?
According to the food news Instagram account@snackolator, the new Pop-Tarts Ice Cream Sandwiches have already been spotted at one Walmart location, so shoutout to the stocker who (probably accidentally) helped us confirm that these are, in fact, real.
