State officials are once again inviting everyone to take part in a tasty tradition. The itinerary for the eighth annual “Ice Cream Trail” is out.

It encourages people to visit some of Pennsylvania’s best creameries and shops, including Batch Microcreamery in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County; Crystal Spring Farm in North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County; Klein Farms Dairy and Creamery in Forks Township, Northampton County; Merrymead Farm in Worcester Township, Montgomery County; and Way-Har Farms in Jefferson Township, Berks County.

Participants can even win some cool prizes along the way. To join in the fun, sign up on the state’s tourism website to start logging visits. Each ice cream shop check-in is worth 100 points.

Redeeming 600 points will earn participants a commemorative stainless-steel tumbler.

A thousand points gives the most serious ice cream lovers the chance to win one of the grand prizes.

The event goes until Sept. 7.
