Blue Bell’s Great Scoop Revival Flavor Tournament was a fun way for fans to bring back one of their favorite discontinued flavors. The company started with 16 old favorites and let customers vote in a bracket-style contest to decide the winner. Each round narrowed down the choices, with flavors like Blueberry Cheesecake and Tiramisu in the mix, until it came down to the final two.

Great news for ice cream lovers in Louisiana, Blue Bell’s Groom’s Cake Ice Cream is back! After fans voted in the company’s Great Scoop Revival Flavor Tournament, Groom’s Cake came out on top, beating out Cookie Cake Ice Cream in the final round.
“We are excited to have Groom’s Cake back in stores this year,” said Kelli Remmert, Blue Bell marketing communications manager. “It is always difficult to say goodbye to an ice cream flavor that you love. Being able to interact with our fans and hear directly from them is always fun. We plan to have another flavor tournament in the future, and we know the competition will be just as sweet.”
Originally released in 2009, Groom’s Cake was a fan favorite until it was discontinued nine years later. The ice cream is a delicious mix of milk chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake pieces, and chocolate-coated strawberry hearts, all swirled with strawberry sauce and chocolate icing. It’s now back on store shelves in both pint and half-gallon sizes—but only for a limited time, so don’t wait too long to grab it!
If you were rooting for Cookie Cake Ice Cream, don’t worry. Blue Bell announced that Cookie Cake will also return later this month, so fans of that flavor have something to look forward to as well.
