A popular Gettysburg ice cream shop was named by USA Today readers among the 10 Best ice cream shops nationwide for 2025.
Mr G’s Ice Cream, located at 404 Baltimore Street in Gettysburg, came in third nationwide in the results.
The ranking cites the shop’s unique location in the historic Twin Sycamores house, which “feels like an ice cream parlor of yesteryear,” and highlights the homemade flavors such as peppermint patty, pistachio, and coffee chip.
The shop relocated to its current historic location in 2011, having been founded on York Street in the borough, and remains a local favorite for its homemade flavors, sundaes and shakes.
Along with an indoor space, the shop features outdoor order and pick-up windows, plus plenty of seating indoors and out.
A gift shop is located to the rear of the ice cream shop, featuring souvenirs and other various gifts.
In a post sharing the results, the shop thanked their customers for making the results possible, and for voting for the shop.
“Beyond thankful is the best way in which we can describe our gratitude towards our customers and supporters,” the shop said in their post.
“This recognition will only inspire us to continue providing the classic Mr. G’s flavors you have grown to love, as well as looking into new exciting ideas as well,” they added.
