The Portland area is awash with Salt & Straw locations. Next month, one suburb will get its first.
The popular ice cream brand, known for its funky monthly flavors, will open its newest scoop shop in outdoor shopping mall Bridgeport Village on May 9.

The store, located at 7367 S.W. Bridgeport Road, will be the chain’s seventh in Oregon. The mall straddles Tigard and Tualatin, neither of which is currently home to a Salt & Straw location.
Roseline Coffee will give a free beverage to the first 100 customers at the grand opening. The chain, which has seven Portland-area coffee shops, partnered with the ice cream company on a new flavor featured in Salt & Straw co-founder Tyler Malek’s to-be released cookbook.
The flavor, Coffee Chamomile Sherbet, will be available at the Bridgeport Village scoop shop as part of the cookbook series, which features it and others from Malek’s book.
Salt & Straw began in 2011 as a single food cart on Northeast Alberta Street and now has more than 40 stores across seven states. The Bridgeport Village store will join suburban locations in Beaverton, Lake Oswego and Vancouver.
The new scoop shop will hire about 20 employees, according to a news release. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
